How to convert VTT to SRT

Open or paste your .vtt file.
Make sure the direction is VTT → SRT and click Convert.
Download output.srt and load it in your editor or player.

What the converter cleans up

The WEBVTT header, NOTE comments and STYLE blocks are removed.
Cue settings such as align:start or position:10% are stripped, because SRT does not support them.
Short timestamps like 01:02.500 become full 00:01:02,500.
Voice tags (<v Name>), class tags and karaoke timestamps are removed; the text stays.
Cues are numbered from 1.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my editor reject a VTT file?

Many desktop editors and older players only read SRT. Converting to SRT usually fixes it.

Is positioning information lost?

Yes. SRT has no standard positioning, so VTT cue settings are dropped.
